Human Resources Advisor
Job specification
• Provision of guidance and support to line managers and employees the areas of recruitment, employee relations, succession planning, organisational development, training and performance management.
• Advise managers on the effective application of employment law and our policies and procedures, treating colleagues fairly, in line with good practice and legislative requirements whilst meeting business needs.
• Co-ordination of the recruitment cycle from start to finish, including onboarding and the delivery of inductions.
• Administration of all HR related documentation through the employment lifecycle including the preparation and issue of contracts of employment, changes to terms and conditions of employment and leavers documentation, updating the payroll function of all changes.
• Co-ordination of referrals to Occupational Health and monitoring long term sickness.
• Responsible for ensuring all HR information is managed: updating and providing reports from the Donald Russell systems.
• Be a HR systems super user for Softworks, co-ordinating training and maintaining the integrity of the data.
• In conjunction with line managers, identify staff development and training needs, sourcing and booking appropriate courses and providers.
• Co-ordinating the Apprentice Scheme within Donald Russell liaising with line managers, external training organisations and other third parties such as Skills Development Scotland and DYW.
• Liaison with schools and attendance at career/recruitment fairs to promote Donald Russell as an Employer of Choice.
• Supporting employee communications and engagement activities such as listening groups and the employee focus group.
• Support the development and maintenance of the HR strategy and participate in ad hoc projects as they arise.
• Responsible for Disclosure Scotland checks for applicable staff.
• Maintain a high level of ‘continuing professional development’ by undertaking training, attending networking events and reading professional updates to maintain an up to date knowledge of employment law and best practice in HR.
You have several years generalist experience within a HR function and a CIPD Qualification is preferred along with experience of dealing with complex people issues, including change management, coaching, discipline and grievance.
• An excellent knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice along with the ability to put this into practice.
• Excellent oral and written skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across the business.
• Good organisational ability, excellent numeracy skills with an eye for detail.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and HRIS knowledge.

Contact Centre Advisor
Job specification
Christmas is one of our busiest times of the year, and we have opportunities to join us, on a fixed term basis, on the run up to Christmas.
Based within the Contact Centre at our Inverurie office, the role involves taking telephone calls and enquiries from new and existing customer, placing orders on our in-house system, as well as assisting in resolving and reporting any customer related complaints if they arise.
You will also be responsible for keeping accurate records of customer interactions and carry out various administrative duties relevant to the role, such as following up on customer enquiries. Additionally, you will support the Customer Services to improve the customer service experience.
As the “voice” of Donald Russell, applicants should possess exceptional communication skills, with an ability to display confidence, patience, tact and diplomacy when dealing with difficult situations. Strong MS Office skills are essential, as is the ability to learn a bespoke IT package. Previous experience within a Contact/Service Centre environment would be advantageous, but not essential as full training will be given.
The opening hours of the Contact Centre are as follows
• Monday to Friday 9 am – 5 pm
• Saturday 10 am - 4pm
• Sunday 10 am – 4 pm (potentially during October – December only)
This is an on call role (zero hours) and no hours are guaranteed – however, full flexibility to cover different shifts during these hours is advantageous but not essential, however, would allow for more hours to be offered. The role will be on a fixed term basis and envisaged to end mid – end January 2024.
All successful applicants will have to undertake and satisfactorily pass a basic Criminal Record Check as this role involves managing financial transactions with our customers.
General Operative
This role is responsible for packing frozen customer orders into polystyrene or cardboard boxes and scanning and printing labels, ensuring that the orders are correct and packaged appropriately. You are responsible for ensuring that work areas are kept clean and tidy and maintain strict hygiene and quality standards.
This role is responsible for picking frozen customer orders to the exact specifications of the orders by lifting, moving and stacking products using trolleys. This will involve working at temperatures of up to -18 degrees (full training and PPE will be provided).
This role is responsible for ensuring the packing stations have the appropriate stock of equipment required to pack and distribute orders. This role will also provide cover for the Dry Ice function, which will involve packing orders with dry ice and operating the strapping machine.
