General Operative (Picking)

Job Specification

We have permanent vacancies for General Operatives at our premises in Kintore, working a late shift as part of our Picking Team. This is a permanent role working Monday – Friday 2 pm – 10 pm with overtime as and when required (which may include Saturday working).

Working within the Picking Department as part of an established and diverse team, you will be responsible for selecting customer orders to their exact specifications and ensuring that the highest standard of quality and hygiene is maintained. This is a busy department and a high attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately is essential, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy in the orders picked.

As our product is frozen, you will be working in a freezer environment which is below freezing, however, appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be provided as well as additional warming breaks outwith your normal breaks. Full training will be provided on the processes, along with training on any machinery required to be used.

As a food production service, it is vital that we remain open. However, we require to adhere to the social distancing guidance set down by the government. In view of this, applications will ONLY be progressed from individuals who will be able to adhere to the recognised social distancing advice, ie travelling to work by car or motorbike alone, or be able to walk to work at Kintore. We also have additional measure in places at Kintore to ensure that the guidance is adhered to whilst working

Category Manager - Seafood & Poultry

Job Specification

This new exciting full time role is based within the Procurement Department at Kintore and will provide assistance to the Head of Procurement in the sourcing, selection and procurement of seafood and poultry products required to meet our commercial objectives. The Category Manager will be responsible for:.
Range planning
Manage the product range, building effective relationships with suppliers to help drive item sales within the product category and working with the product and marketing teams to provide regular insights on opportunities within the market, using insight to influence range and sales plans at category reviews.
Procurement and Quality
Work with the Head of Procurement to deliver key insights and recommendations for category/range reviews and marketing initiatives building and sustaining relationships with key stakeholders. Review, plan and purchase products with suppliers to fulfil upcoming sales plans, monitoring the quality of the product and liaise with the Technical team on the maintenance of up to date specifications.
Supply chain
Build effective relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them to ensure we get the best prices, quality and volumes required for the needs of the business. Ensure KPI and Financial targets are in place, are accurate and achieved for the department and business.
Stock Management
Assist Supply Chain to manage the competing requirements of stock holding and stock flow to minimise both out of stocks and cash invested in stock.
The Category Manager will also be involved in supporting the production and reporting of KPI’s on a weekly and monthly basis and will ensure compliance with all legislative requirements.
Previous experience in the purchase of seafood and/or poultry is essential and experience in a wholesale or retail food business is preferred.
No specific qualifications or educational qualifications are required for this role but a recognized supervisory or management qualification would be an advantage All applicants must be competent in microsoft office and possess a strong commercial acumen, along with the ability to analyse information and the confidence to negotiate contracts. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing deadlines. Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with suppliers and within the business are required.

We have permanent vacancies for General Operatives at our premises in Kintore, working a late shift as part of our Packing Team. This is a permanent role working Monday – Friday 2 pm – 10 pm with overtime as and when required (which may include Saturday working).

Working as part of an established and diverse team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our customer orders are packed appropriately and passed to our distribution department. You will be required to operate scanning and bar-coding equipment and high attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately is essential, whilst ensuring that the highest standard of quality and hygiene is maintained. During busy periods, there may be the requirement to provide support to the Dry Ice Team in packing orders.

You will be working in a chilled environment, however, appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be provided as well as full training on the processes, along with training on any machinery required to be used. The ability to adhere and maintain strict hygiene and quality standards is essential.
