General Operative, Packing

Job Specification

The role:

This full-time role based at Kintore will involve working within the busy packing team, ensuring that customer orders are correct and packed for distribution appropriately. This role is based within a chilled environment, and appropriate PPE will be issued.
Working hours are Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week (6 am – 2 pm) with flexibility in these hours to suit business requirements

The duties will include:

- On a daily basis, packing the customer orders to exact specifications, ensuring that the orders are correct.
-Operating scanning and barcode equipment.
-Completion of necessary paperwork.
- Counting, moving lifting and stacking products.
- Packing of dry ice when required.
- Ensuring that work areas are kept clean and tidy.
- Ensure all personal equipment is kept in safe working order.
- Ensure good housekeeping practices within work area.
- Maintaining quality and hygiene standards.

Essential skills & experience:

- Previous experience within a food dispatch environment would be beneficial but not essential.
- Knowledge of relevant picking and packing equipment would be beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to understand and adhere to food safety standards.
- Manual dexterity.
- Abiity to work under pressure.
- Attention to detail.
- A desire to produce excellent work, both individually and as part of a highly-motivated team.

Hygiene Team Lead

Job Specification

The role:

This is a permanent role based at our Production Facility at Inverurie and involve managing a small team who are key in making sure that Donald Russell is legally compliant in hygiene standards as a Food Business Operator(FBO and EC approved plant.
Working hours are 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday 8 am – 4.30 pm, however, flexibility will be required to fit around any overtime working with the Production area. Some weekend working may be required depending on operational requirements.

The duties will include:

Leading a small team, this role will assist to maintain the highest standards of hygiene within the production areas and ensuring that all equipment and machinery used is kept in good working order.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene cleaning in all areas of the plant.
- Determining staff levels, assigning workloads and managing the existing team.
- Ensure all production areas are kept in a clean and safe working condition.
- Ensure site tidiness at all external areas.
- Responsible for implementation and recording for Staff training in hygiene procedures.
- Responsible for implementation of Health and Safety procedures.
- Highlight any issues to the Production Director on daily/weekly basis as required.
- Responsible for implementation and recording new procedures and techniques within the role.
- Measure and report the effectiveness of team activities and performance on a regular basis through the annual performance review process.
- Communicate job expectations, train and develop employees.

Essential skills & experience:

Previous experience of working in a hygiene role within a food production environment would be advantageous, but not essential as full training will be given. Previous experience of managing a multi-cultural team is essential as is the ability to work well under pressure and to extremely high standards. As this role forms part of a small team - reliability and commitment to the role is also essential.

Job Specification

The role:

Working within an established diverse team, you will be responsible for producing a wide variety of Donald Russell products including minced steak, sausages, burgers, sausage rolls and en-croutes, all to our exacting high standards.
You will be trained to operate machinery as required, but most of the preparation and finishing work will be carried out by hand.
You will be required to adhere to strict food hygiene standards as well as develop an understanding of and adhere to strict traceability procedures.
Working hours are 40 hours per week - 6.00 am – 2.30 pm Monday – Friday, with overtime as required, which may involve Saturday working during peak periods.
This work will involve working in a chilled environment wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (which will be provided).
Previous experience in a food despatch environment would be beneficial but not essential, along with knife skills.
