Experienced Butcher - Job Specification

Reporting to a Team Lead this position is based in Inverurie.
Purpose:
Working within the Butchery Team to ensure that the final products meet the quality and specifications required by Donald Russell and its customers
Accountabilities:
  • On a daily basis, preparation of products to both customer and Donald Russell specifications and standards
  • Operation of any machinery used during the butchery process (full training will be provided)
  • Ability to understand and adhere to traceability procedures
  • Good housekeeping and ensuring all equipment is kept in good condition
  • Maintain quality and hygiene standards
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Donald Russell QHSE procedures
Qualifications:

Experience:
  • Previous butchery skills within a meat production environment

Production Operative - Job Specification

Reporting to a Team Lead this position is based in Inverurie.

Working hours are Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week (6 am – 2.30 pm) with overtime when required.
Duties will include:
  • On a daily basis, preparation of product to Donald Russell and customer standards and specifications
  • Develop basic knife skills to trim and debone meat products (full in house training given)
  • Operation of any machinery used during the production process (full training will be provided)
  • Weighing and packing meat products
  • Counting, moving, lifting and stacking product as required (training in manual handling will be given)
  • Completion of specification paperwork
  • Good housekeeping and ensuring all equipment is kept in good condition
  • Maintain quality and hygiene standards
Skills & Experience:
  • Previous experience within a food despatch environment would be beneficial but not essential
  • Knowledge of meat products and knife skills would be beneficial but not essential

Starting in mid October, this is a Fixed Term role until 31st December 2018 and based at our Fulfilment Centre in Kintore. The role will involve working within the busy packing team, ensuring that customer orders are correct and packed for distribution appropriately. This role is based within a chilled environment, and appropriate PPE will be issued. Working hours are Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week (6 am – 2 pm) with overtime working which will include earlier starts and Saturday working, when required.
The Duties will include:
    On a daily basis, packing the customer orders to exact specifications, ensuring that the orders are correct
  • Operating scanning and barcode equipment
  • Completion of necessary paperwork
  • Counting, moving lifting and stacking products
  • Packing of dry ice when required
  • Ensuring that work areas are kept clean and tidy
  • Ensure all personal equipment is kept in safe working order
  • Ensure good housekeeping practices within work area
  • Maintaining quality and hygiene standards

Marketing Co-Ordinator - Job Specification

This exciting role is based within the Marketing Department at our premises in Inverurie and will provide support to the Marketing team in implementing the marketing and communications campaigns and activities for Donald Russell.


Working 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week), this busy and fast paced role is pivotal in co-ordinating and helping bring the marketing activity of Donald Russell to life. Taking direction from and working closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager and the existing team, you will assist with the finalisation of flatplans and design briefs, the shaping of copy and design visuals of artwork and managing the production of all internal marketing materials and point of sales materials. Some experience in the managing of social media platforms is essential.


Having just gone through a major re-branding exercise, it‘s an exciting time for the company. Our brand is our major consideration when creating social media campaigns, photoshoots, corporate imagery and briefs, as well as our core values of Honesty, Integrity, Unity, Agility and Passion and the willingness to embrace and positively promote these is key.


We’re looking for a creative, roll your sleeves up and get stuck in type of individual, with experience of commissioning graphic design work and preparing press-ready copy coupled with an exceptional eye for detail.


Applicants should also possess excellent written English and the demonstrable ability to work on multiple projects with challenging and changing deadlines. A good working experience of Microsoft Office and the Adobe Creative suite is essential. Experience of working within a marketing team would be beneficial, preferably within an FMCG business.

On Call Sales Advisor - Job Specification

This on call role is based within the Contact Centre in Inverurie, taking telephone calls and enquiries from new and existing customers and placing orders on our in house system, all whilst providing a first class customer service. You will also be responsible for keeping accurate records of customer interactions and carry out various administrative duties relevant to the role, such as following up on customer enquiries.


The role will be working as and when required to cover peak call times in the Contact Centre which are as follows:


  • Monday, Tuesday & Friday – 8 am – 8 pm (full flexibility to cover different shifts during these hours would be advantageous)
  • Evenings – 4 pm – 8 pm
  • Weekends – 9 am – 5 pm


Other hours may be available and will be offered, where possible, during the normal opening hours - although no hours are guaranteed.


As the “voice” of Donald Russell, applicants should possess exceptional communication skills, with an ability to display confidence, patience, tact and diplomacy when dealing with difficult situations. Strong MS Office skills are essential, as is the ability to learn a bespoke IT package. Previous experience within a Contact/Service Centre environment would be advantageous, but not essential as full training will be given.

Technical Assistant - Job Specification

This exciting position is based within our main production premises at Inverurie, working 40 hours per week Monday – Friday (6 am – 2.30 pm with some overtime as and when required).


This role will work as part of the existing Technical Team to ensure that Donald Russell is legally compliant in all technical aspects as a Food Business Operator (FBO) and EC approved plant.


You will be responsible for the completion of all Quality Control Checks, including product and weight checks and temperature monitoring as well as preparing samples and swabs for weekly testing. You will also participate in regular internal audits, ensuring that food safety and hygiene processes are implemented and maintained.


An organised self-starter and confident communicator, both in written and spoken English, along with first class interpersonal skills are key to success in this role. You will also have proficiency in all MS Office packages, coupled with the ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team.


The ability to work within a cold store food preparation environment (with full PPE being supplied) is essential.


Relevant experience and knowledge of food safety would be beneficial, but not essential as full training will be given the successful candidate.

Food Advisor - Job Specification

This exciting position is based within the Contact Centre at our main premises at Inverurie, working 37.5 hours per week (exact days/hours to be confirmed). This is a key role in building and enhancing the relationship Donald Rusell has with its many customers.


You will be responsible for hitting key monthly sales and margin targets set for different activities, by undertaking outbound telemarketing campaings to build relationships with existing customers and generate additional sales. You will have the opportunity to develop a personal customer base and have reponsibility for optimising service and sales for your group, as well as resolving any queries or complaints raised.


Full training on all products (and yes that includes tasting!) will be a vital part to enhancing your knowledge of Donald Russell products to pass onto your customers.


An organised self-starter, confident communicator with first class interpersonal skills and excellent sales skills are key to success in this role. Proficiency in all MS Office packages and the ability to learn a bespoke ordering system are essential, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team when the need arises.


This role will be salaried, with a bonus scheme in place linked to performance.
