    Oven Roasted Chicken Leg with Sage

     

    An easy method for how to cook chicken legs in the oven. This foolproof recipe will create baked chicken leg quarters to be proud of, thanks to flavourful sage and garlic. Delicious chicken with crispy skin that is made so easy to try.

  • Ingredients
     
    • 4 Corn-Fed Chicken Legs
    • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
    • 1 Garlic Clove (crushed)
    • 1 tsp Salt
    • 1 pinch Mild Curry Powder
    • 4-5 sprigs of Sage (leaves only)
  • Method
     
    1. Preheat the oven to 200&°C/400&°F/Gas 6.
    2. Remove wrapping from the chicken legs and rinse under cold running water; pat dry with kitchen paper. Allow the chicken legs to come to room temperature.
    3. Mix 1 tbsp olive oil with garlic, salt and curry powder, brush this mixture all over the chicken legs and place them into a roasting dish. Place in the centre of the oven for 15 minutes, turn the oven down to 180°C/360°F/Gas 4 and cook for a further 30-40 minutes.
    4. Meanwhile mix sage with remaining olive oil and drizzle over the chicken legs for the last 10 minutes of cooking time.
    5. Before serving switch off the oven and allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes in the oven with the door open, or in a warm place.
    6. Serve with fresh vegetables and roasted potatoes.
