Cooking Instructions:
Cooking guidelines from defrosted: allow the bird to reach room temperature before cooking. Weigh your bird for a guide to the cooking times as it may be heavier than minimum weight stipulated.

Preheat the oven to 180°C / fan 160°C / gas mark 4.

Remove giblets from the cavity. We recommend that you remove or cut the trussing band prior to cooking as this will allow the heat to get to the thigh area.

Place the turkey (breast side down) and the giblets into a large roasting tin and season with salt and pepper. Cooking it upside down will keep the breast meat moist as the fat on the back of the bird trickles through the breast.

We recommend not to cover your turkey with tin foil as this results in a steamed skin rather than an oven roasted skin.

After one hour, holding the drumsticks, carefully turn the turkey over. It will be hot so use oven gloves or a thick oven cloth. Add a cup of water or wine to the tin to keep the bird moist during cooking.

The pop-up timer we've inserted in the breast will pop up when the bird is ready but please ensure the turkey is cooked fully by probing the thickest part of the breasts and thighs to make sure the juices run clear.

Allow to stand for at least 30 minutes before carving this will allow the juices to settle in the meat making it easier to carve as well as being deliciously moist.

No need to cover, it won't go cold.

3kg: 2 hours
4kg: 2 hours 15 minutes

The above timings assumes no tin foil is used when roasting your turkey.

The optimal temperature to achieve for your cooked turkey should be 74°C.

Ensure product is fully cooked & piping hot throughout before serving.
Do not reheat once cooked.
