We have reached new levels of succulence with this juicy, tender slow cooked chicken. A whole crown – both chicken breasts, kept on the bone for extra flavour – is sealed up in a savoury gravy, enhanced with sage and real chicken stock. We add a whole sprig of fresh thyme and slow cook it gently for over three hours – ‘sous vide’ so that none of the precious juices escape.

Frozen at the peak of perfection
Keep frozen at -18ºC. Defrost for 12 hours in the fridge, store below 5ºC once defrosted and use within 24 hours.

Ingredients:
Basted Chicken (85%) (Chicken breast (91%), Water, Dried glucose syrup, Salt, acidity regulator (Sodium acetates, Sodium citrate), antioxidant (Sodium ascorbate)), Chicken Gravy (15%) (Water, Corn starch, Sugar, Chicken stock, White wine vinegar, Cane sugar, Tomato purée, Onion powder, WHEAT flour, Yeast extract, colour (Plain caramel), Salt, Rapeseed oil, Black pepper, Onion juice, Sage, preservative (Potassium sorbate)), Thyme.

Nutritional Values: (typical per 100g):
Energy: 619 kJ / 148 kcal, Fat: 6.2g, of which Saturates: 2.1g, Carbohydrates: 1.7g, of which Sugars: 1.3g, Fibre: 0.5g, Protein: 21.2g, Salt: 0.7g
Allow product to sit at room temperature for 10 minutes, whether frozen or defrosted. Remove packaging, emptying full contents into a heatproof dish, placing chicken skin side up.

Oven: Preheat to 220°C / Fan 200°C / Gas 7 and heat, covered with foil, for:

25-30 minutes from frozen
15-20 minutes from defrosted

Discard foil and cook uncovered for a further 20 minutes.

Microwave: Based on 850W. Loosely cover and heat for:

17-18 minutes from frozen
10-11 minutes from defrosted

Stir/baste halfway through cooking time (either method).
Before serving, ensure meat is piping hot throughout and stir sauce.

For best results, we recommend heating in the oven from frozen.

Do not reheat.
