Heat the oil in a frying pan, season the steaks with salt and pepper and place in the pan, leave for 5 minutes then turn and cook for another 4-5 minutes.
Remove the steaks to an ovenproof plate, smear pesto over them and top with a slice of mozzarella.
Place under a preheated grill for about 1 minute until the cheese is golden on top and just cooked through.
Serve with baked potatoes and mixed leaf salad.
