Pork shoulder has great marbling, a firm texture and lots of flavour. Our butchers have lovingly hand prepared these for you, so you can enjoy all the flavour of marinated pork with none of the waiting.

Head Butcher's Tip:
Pork shoulder is a heavily marbled cut - that means it is rippled through with tiny ribbons of fat and connective tissue, which melt away during cooking, leaving a wonderfully rich flavour.There can sometimes be traces of gristle left after cooking; this is entirely normal and is a natural part of these steaks.If you love the flavour of our Marinated Pork Shoulder Steaks but prefer a smoother, leaner texture, why not marinate our Pork Loin Steaks in a mix of The Perfect Seasoning?

Head Chef's Tip:
It's important not to over-cook these delicious Marinated Pork Steaks as they will become dry and tough. I recommend no more than 2-3 minutes per side, and a good 5 minutes resting after cooking.

Once defrosted, store between 0 - 5ºC and use within 24 hours
Cooking instructions:

Defrost in fridge overnight. Remove Steaks from packaging.

Preheat a frying pan or griddle pan. Add a little oil to the pan or brush oil directly onto the steaks to avoid using too much.

Place steaks into the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes without touching. Turn your steaks and continue to cook for a further 2-3 minutes.

Remove steaks from the pan. Place steaks on a rack, cover with foil and allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

After cooking my first pack by frying in a pan and finding them very tasty but a bit dry, I took the advice of the reviewer who flash fried them then cooked them in the oven for about 30 minutes wrapped in foil...result! All the flavour retained and still moist due to the chops cooking in their juices - delicious!

Cooked these steaks exactly as instructions in a griddle pan and we both thought they were delicious, very tender and full of flavour. Will definitely be buying more.
