Donald Russell Free Range Poultry

Our chickens, ducks and guinea fowl are raised in the idyllic Loué region of France, on farms where welfare and quality are paramount.

The birds have complete freedom to roam free in huge, grassy pastures, or peck under trees and hedges, and they enjoy a natural diet including non-gm maize, wheat and soya. They are so well cared for they even have their spacious, ergonomically designed fox-proof houses painted in special restful colours.

These chickens are bred from ancient stock, grow slowly and live to twice the age of most standard chickens - so it's not surprising that they have a superb flavour and texture.

Loué 'Label Rouge' Free Range Poultry

Here at Donald Russell we believe that the best tasting meat comes from livestock which is properly reared, with an all-natural diet, and no added extras. That's why we source our free range poultry from the beautiful Loué region of France. The Louè  farms provide us with real old fashioned chicken, duck, goose and guinea fowl which is naturally firm and full of flavour, with no added water like most supermarket chickens.

While we would love to be able to source our chickens from closer to home, we simply haven't been able to find chickens of the same quality as these superb birds from the Loué farmers.

Whole chickens make for a Sunday dinner beyond compare, and our Loué Chicken box gives you two. The box contains one corn-fed chicken with a mellow taste and moist flesh, and one white chicken which has a stronger, more rustic flavour. We also supply beautifully trimmed Corn-fed Chicken Legs and Corn-fed Chicken Supremes with the bone left in for maximum flavour.

Free Range Duck and Goose

 
Our Free Range Goose was a roaring success last Christmas, and it's still one of our bestsellers now. This delicious bird has enough meat to feed six and makes a stunning centrepiece for any special occasion. Our Duck Breasts are plump and tender with a fabulous "true" taste, while our Duck Legs are perfect for hearty casseroles.

Our Guinea Fowl Supremes come prepared to an incredibly high standard and make a delightfully different alternative to chicken.
