The classic dish from Burgundy. Our best Shin of Beef, slow-cooked with tiny button mushrooms, sweet silverskin onions, red wine and streaky bacon.

Storage: Store at < -18ºC. Do not refreeze once defrosted.
Defrosting: Keep in original packaging and thaw slowly in a refrigerator. Once defrosted store between 0-5ºC and use within 48 hours.
Microwave: (Based on 800w):
Pierce film lid and cook

FROM DEFROSTED: 2-3 minutes
FROM FROZEN: 6-7 minutes

until piping hot. Stir before serving.
Decrease the cooking time for microwaves with higher wattage.

Pierce the film and place casserole in its tray on a baking tray. Cook in a pre-heated oven at 200ºC/Fan 180ºC/Gas 4 until piping hot for:

FROM DEFROSTED: 20-25 minutes
FROM FROZEN: 30-35 minutes

Remove from oven and stir before serving.

On the Hob:
Defrost in the fridge overnight. Remove film and empty the contents into a saucepan. Heat gently, stirring occasionally, until piping hot.

This dish is very good but I am going to give the 2 I have left to my Scottish neighbours because due to my age they are too rich for me.
A tasty meal without having to slave over a hot stove!
Very good taste and meat tender. However, mushrooms were solid and stringy
Not as good as I was expecting.
Nice flavour and very good meat, but it lacked the baby onions and mushrooms that are supposed to be part of this dish.

Not good. Taste was bitter and not rich as BB should be. Much better to make own with stewing steak red wine and garlic. For those who cant /wont cook maybe OK
